Advance >> Bible Study - Day 7

Today is the last day of the Bible Study week on the blog. I hope you have enjoyed it and have found at least one method that you can do on a regular basis.

Today's method is a Topical Study on the word: Humility

Here is what you do: (you will need a journal and a pen)
  1. Write down the dictionary definition(s) for the word humility.
  2. Go to www.BibleGateway.com by clicking HERE and type in the word "humility" in the search box, then hit enter. There will be a list of verses that come up. Look through those verses and write down two or three of them that stick out to you.
  3. What did you take away from those verses about humility?
  4. What does humility show about your relationship with God?
  5. Summarize how God is calling you to be humble.
  6. What are some ways that you can be humble?
You can do this with just about any subject or person in the Bible. It is very useful when studying one subject at a time.

Some other possible studies might include: Purity, forgiveness, perseverance, love, confession, honor, etc.

Seems to me like humility is one of the most important concepts that Christians need to grasp. Jesus was the ultimate example of humility and those who follow him should display it at all times.

If you don't humble yourself, God will humble you and it will be much more painful then if you just let go of your own pride.
I cling to Exodus 14:14 Jehovah will fight for you, and you will hold your peace.

If God's fighting for me then why do I think that my words or self-defense will make me look better than God will?
